Join us Tuesday evening for a pop up yoga class with a new style of yoga and a new teacher!

Kinam Yoga is a psychophysical system from ancient Mesoamerica that is being carefully revived in these modern times. Practicing Kinam works on awakening and deepening our connection to our four bodies, the four elements, and the four directions. Each practice will coordinate with the Tonalpohualli (Mexica calendar).

Tuesday March 28th class lands on the day of Se Cuetzapalin, One Lizard, and focuses on the earth element. We will work the physical body with the four power postures of the South to connect with stability and channel energy from the earth.

Adrian was born in California and raised in Mexico and has spent his life bridging two worlds together. He discovered Yoga on a backpacking trip through Europe and immediately felt a strong connection. He completed a Yoga teacher training in 2019 and has been intermittently teaching Vinyasa Yoga since then.

More recently he came across Kinam, known by some as Toltec Yoga, and felt an even more profound connection with the practice and cosmovision. With Kinam, he knew he was going to immerse himself in the practice for life. After a short time, Adrian travelled to Mexico to train as part of the second generation of certified Kinam instructors of our time. He feels a strong calling to share the wisdom of his ancestors to serve our collective and holistic evolution journey. Adrian spends his time moving his body with dance, slacklining, highlining, Yoga and Kinam. He is most interested in applying tools from Yoga, Kinam, and a blend of other schools of thought to deepen his experience and understanding of the complex biosphere we live in.

Serving as a bridge, he is a staunch defender of and advocate for Indigenous rights and environmental justice. An advisor and presenter on various Sacred matters, he is a counselor, educator and consultant for academic, spiritual/religious, medical, environmental and penal institutions as well as for corporations.

Interviewed monthly for radio, his life, story and writings have been featured in books and journals. In addition to directing and teaching the programs at Ancestral Voice - Institute for Indigenous Lifeways in Northern California, which he founded in 1994, he maintains a private healing practice, performs Ceremonies, conducts intensives, gives lectures and leads pilgrimages worldwide. He is skilled in wilderness survival, has received a Masters degree from Naropa University and is also a licensed EMT.

I have been practicing breathwork every day since last July. I started with Wim Hof and then met Salman and Michael who introduced me to Somatic Breathwork. I fell in love with the way I felt after a session and knew that I wanted to share that feeling of calm with all my students.

In late February I went to Austin to get trained how to guide people through a breathwork journey. I learned firsthand how this modality releases stress, anxiety, anger, fear, sadness and makes room for you to truly shine.

Psychobotanikon is an events series which explores

Psychobotanikon is an events series which explores the soul life of plants through sound, movement, projected images and authentic interactions with low dose plant medicine. It emerged in 2017 during a residency at Safehouse for the Arts and has been in development since. While the community of performers is diverse, elements of Butoh, shadow puppetry, invented instruments and extended playing techniques are often incorporated.

Act one: Dean Santomieri offers solo set for guitar and dreams.

Act two: Pet the Tiger performs Psychobotony "expressing the soul experience of plants through immersive arts" with Katarina Countiss performing projections and live movers Andrew Rose and Dominique Nigro.

Act three: Ben Unger, live electronic music

It is not a requirement that one engage with the sacrament, and know that this is a safe, comfortable environment in which to experiment with small doses. Our standard cup is one gram of mushrooms in tea. It is prepared by a shaman who has been working with the medicine for over 20 years and is considered to be a love potion. It is delicious, with notes of lemon, chamomile, ginger and honey. Most participants find a single gram dose to be noticeable, but not overwhelming. It is more than a microdose but less than a trip, in the region often referred to as a concert or museum dose. While there is always an experienced trip sitter on the premises, everyone is expected to take responsibility for their own experience, and the choices they make.

Our guide for this session is Nicola Buffa, an Artist + Hypnotherapist + Sound Healer + Reiki Master.

As Source Field Sound she practices using Crystal Singing Bowls + Sacred Sound to channel transmissions for inter-dimensional integrations, geometric light-codes, healing alignments, and activations for our future selves. Her astral enhancing experiences are intended to provide healing space for individuals and the creative spirit of our collective consciousness.

By changing the balance of CO2 and oxygen in our body, breathwork makes our blood more alkaline, which creates changes in our brain; this decreases the activity in the prefrontal cortex, allowing us to step beyond our ego and everyday mind, and to access valuable insights and broader perspectives about our selves and our lives.
